CoolxDad is a Nonprofit Organization founded and directed by Kevin Barnett and Arvy Lim and this past Sunday they presented the Born A Star Festival at Lucille’s historic restaurant in Houston. The event was sponsored by Don Julio
The organizations goal is “to aid and uplift all fathers of color striving to build a better world for their children and serve the communities in which they live.” What it doesn’t say is how these 2 founders are taking an innovative approach to the traditional fund raising most nonprofits must engage in. By creating “experiences” rather than constantly asking for donations, CoolxDad is “partying with a purpose”
Kevin Barnett states:
My history and my today are all about working to make something better for myself and my family -- and that work is present in what CoolxDad is aiming to improve the health of the American household.
and Arvy LIm says:
CoolxDad is a personal expression of my desire to both serve children all across this country and to leave a legacy for my children and my children’s children -- a life story that my family can be proud of when they remember my life in the future.
