Kendrick Lamar’s ‘m.A.A.d.’ Short Film Will Be Exhibited In Los Angeles

This past summer, K.Dot  premiered his short film ‘m.A.A.d.’ at Sundance NEXT Festival and it was received well. It was enjoyed so much that the film, directed by Khalil Joseph, will be an exhibit at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Los Angeles in 2015. The 14-minute documentary was directly inspired by Kendrick Lamar’s
good kid, m.A.A.d. city album in 2012. A statement describing the film on the museum website reads:

“Kahlil Joseph’s double-screen projection m.A.A.d is a lush portrait of contemporary Los Angeles. From barbershops to marching bands, from homeboys drinking in the streets to the iconic carpet of shimmering lights, the camera in m.A.A.d sinuously glides through predominantly African American neighborhoods in Los Angeles catching a dizzying array of quotidian moments suffused with creativity, joy, and sadness. Joseph’s film is accompanied by a thick booming soundtrack provided by emerging hip-hop star Kendrick Lamar and indeed m.A.A.d is part of the title of Lamar’s highly acclaimed second album Good Kid m.A.A.d. City.”

The exhibit will run from March 21 to July 17 of next year. For tickets, visit

New Video: Kendrick Lamar ‘i’

K.Dot is giving us something to vibe to with his long-awaited video for ‘i.’ Kendrick jams in the video, dancing to his own little two-step and chilling with Mr. Ron Isley himself. The video puts listeners and viewers in a cool, laid-back party mood but still makes you want to move a little. Everybody in the visual is having a great time in each setting that carries us through a possibly typical night with Kendrick Lamar. He even throws in an extra verse for this version of the song. Kendrick always seems to have something different up his sleeve. Vibe along to the video posted below.
