Rap-A-Lot Founder and CEO J.Prince is known to be a very intimidating man in the music industry. His latest attempts at flexing his power is the ‘diss record’ he released this week, calling out Diddy, Suge Knight, Baby, and Lil’ Wayne over his artist Drake. J.Prince takes shots at Diddy for punching Drake while at Liv Nightclub in Miami a few months ago and calls Lil’ Wayne a ‘disrespectful little punk.’ Listen to the recording below, and decide how serious J.Prince just might be about his threats.
Weezy is fed up with the Cash Money Records shenanigans, ya heard me?! In addition to suing Baby for $8 million and a release from his contract with Cash Money, Weezy said he’ll give the fans what they want. A new album. And all for the free. Thursday Wayne announced that he will be releasing a a free album, Free Weezy Album. He tweeted out to fans:
The Free Weezy Album…komin soon#FWA
Free album. Free Weezy season. The Free Weezy Album. #FWA
This free album is coming right on the heels of his latest mixtape Sorry 4 The Wait 2, which served as apology to fans who are desperately waiting for the release of Carter V. Wayne has received a lot of support from his fans, the artists on his label, his peers in the industry and also his manager Cortez Bryant who shared more about what is happening over at Cash Money by tweeting:
@LilTunechi built Young Money from his dreams to reality. Launched the careers of @Drake @NICKIMINAJ @Tyga not from their talent but from the belief in what he saw that they saw in themselves and put everything in making sure they fulfill their dreams! That’s what Young Money is about That’s the DNA of the real Lil Wayne Sacrifice himself to want his artist to be better! Wayne carried Cash Money on his back for over 10 years when he could have left and did this on his own The most loyal person I know on earth! He don’t deserve the shit he’s going through at this point in the game. One thing for sure Two things for certain @mackmaine and myself will not let this dream die WE GOT US! #YOUNG MONEY #sorry4forthewait #freeCV
It also turns out that more artists under Cash Money are following Wayne’s lead and wanting out of the label. Rapper and former Hot Boy, Turk, has also filed a lawsuit against Birdman and Cash Money Records for $1 million. He believes he was also cheated out of his earnings and wants the rights to all of his recordings. We’re sure more artist will be soon to follow.
The Cash Money family feud grows by the day! Lil’ Wayne and Birdman attempted to come to a compromise this past week over Wayne’s contract and the release of his new album Carter V. Their little meeting didn’t go over too well and now Wayne is filing an $8 million lawsuit against Birdman and Cash Money Records. Lil’ Wayne is claiming Birdman violated the terms of the contract by denying the advance money for the album and withholding its release, so Wayne is asking for that $8 million and to be freed from his contract with Cash Money. Weezy has kept it all the way one hunnid throughout this whole ordeal by letting fans know what exactly is going on and taking shots at Birdman on a few of his songs on the Sorry 4 The Wait 2 mixtape. It’s hard to see this family break apart. We’re sure this is not the end of their beef, so we’ll keep you tuned in to what’s happening.
The wait is over for Sorry 4 The Wait 2 is now over ladies and gentleman. Last night, Lil Wayne dropped the best apology mixtape since his first one, fans will not be disappointed. The mixtape artwork should be convincing enough, but Wayne is trying his best to get his album to his fans but it’s unfortunately being held hostage by Birdman. Featured on the tape is Drake, 2 Chainz, Mack Maine, Christina Milian and Shanell. Listen and download the tape below. And let’s join hands so Birdman can be just as moved as we are and feel compelled to release Carter V.
Ready to share news about her upcoming E! show, ‘Christina Milian: Turned Up,’ the singer-actress stopped by the Wendy Williams show. Knowing Ms. Wendy, she had to pull the dirt out of Christina by asking her about the relationship with Lil’Wayne. Milian tried to avoid all points of going into detail but we can put it all together. The show is set to air January 18th on E!. Check out the interview below to see what Christina Milian had to say about her family life, her new show and her man.
We’re guessing Lil’ Wayne took his daddy Birdman’s lyrics a little too seriously when he said ‘I’ll ink my whole body, I don’t give a mother****.’ Over the weekend, Weezy engaged in a little ink therapy by getting two new face tattoos. The one over his left eye is ‘Mama’s Boy’ inscribed in Arabic while the second is the Eye of Providence etched into his chin. Tatto artist Spider of Clemente, California did the work for Wayne and tweeted “Couple pieces I did on my man Lil Wayne,” tweeted Spider. “A very hospitable and professional client, thanks Wayne!” Do ya’ll like Wayne’s new pieces?
We may be experiencing a bit of dejá vu. The kind where Lil Wayne gives us an appetizer mixtape before the real deal. I know you remember Sorry 4 The Wait, the fire piece of work Wayne delivered to hold us over until The Carter IV was ready. Well, Lil Wayne will be offering up Sorry 4 The Wait 2 to warm us up for The Carter V since it has been continuously pushed back. A date is not yet set for the mixtape but we’re sure to expect before the year is up. Can’t wait to finally get something new from Weezy, but we’re forever anticipating Carter V. Birdman needs to figure this out ASAP!
Nicki and friends bring grit, gore, and horror to the rising single ‘Only’ from her upcoming album The Pink Print. The visual is very dark, yet sexy with plenty of leather, whips and Nicki sporting a mesh catsuit. The Pink Print will drop December 15th. Check out the video below.
So we thought Tyga was once off the deep end, but now it seems like he may have been foreshadowing events that are soon to come. Earlier this week, Lil Wayne tweeted about the inability to release his 11th studio album due to issues within his label. The world knows that Cash Money Records owner Baby, and Lil Wayne have an extremely close relationship so the statement caught everyone off guard. Tyga was really on to something and now we know what. Tha Carter V was supposed to release next Tuesday but now that won’t be happening and Wayne puts blame on Birdman and Cash Money Records. His tweets are as read:
To all my fans, I want u to know that my album won’t and hasn’t been released bekuz Baby & Cash Money Rec. refuse to release it. This is not my fault. I am truly and deeply sorry to all my fans but most of all to myself and my family for putting us in this situation. I want off this label and nothing to do with these people but unfortunately it ain’t that easy. I am a prisoner and so is my creativity Again,I am truly sorry and I don’t blame ya if ya fed up with waiting 4 me & this album. But thk u. Pray.
The most shocking piece of the statement is Wayne saying he wants off of the label that that he has given years of undying loyalty to. We really hope all is well or can be mended over at Cash Money Records. Keep an eye out for the release of Tha Carter V, fingers crossed.
Debuting on Sunday night’s American Music Awards, Lil Wayne and Christina Milian released a new song ’Start A Fire.’ The song has Tunechi dusting off his auto-tune machine and of course rapping his creative lyrics. Lil Wayne and Christina Milian’s relationship has been making headlines for the past few months for reasons considering that both of their exes have kids together, but whatever. The track is available on iTunes and you can expect Tha Carter V on December 9th. Listen to the track below.
‘Day Off’ is the latest from the mastermind known as Weezy F Baby. Throughout the track, you hear Wayne reference notable phrases from a few of the artists from his own label and Cash Money’s latest signee Flow adds his own unique flair to the song. Flow is Wayne’s most recent addition to YMCMB and he sounds like he may be able to hold his weight with the team, but it may be too early to tell. This track may or may not be on The Carter V, but we’ll enjoy it for now. The current set release date for The Carter V is December 9 but we know that can change at any moment…again.
Lil Wayne has once again pushed back the anticipated Carter V album. However, he hasn’t left fans too disappointed. He dropped a new song today with help from The LOX and the two go IN on top of a simple beat, allowing the lyrics to be the focus. Wayne makes sure fans know he can still bring the heat. Carter V new release date is now December 9. Check out the song below.
