Our peeps in L.A. hit us and asked us to Drop in on Yellow Claw Saturday night in support of their sophomore effort Los Amsterdam. The mood was electric as we walked through the parking lot, and ran into a couple hundred fans buzzing with anticipation as they anxiously waited to get in the building. The heady performance was kicked off with a spectacular light show underscored by heart pounding, pulse quickening beats. Jim Aasgier and Nizzle masterfully controlled the crowd’s mood and energy as if it were an instrument in and of itself. They artfully stoked the rising tide of excitement until it could no longer be contained and it erupted; unleashing holy hell in Houston’s Stereo Live, leaving the crowd drenched in sweat and tingling as if released from the grip of gravity to be carried off into the weightlessness of space (city).
Los Amsterdam features the TOP 10 Billboard Dance Chart hit “Good Day (feat. DJ Snake + Elliphant).” LP also features collaborations with Juicy J, Quavo of Migos, Lil Debbie, Moski, Jonna Fraser, Rochelle, Tinie Tempah and Cesqeaux, and the pair have accumulated over 470+ million streams on Spotify and 415+ million plays on YouTube to date….as you can see, the show was lit🔥
Rapper Waka Flocka is known for putting on great shows for college students across the nation but do to the recent University of Oklahoma SAE fraternity controversy, OU students will not get the chance to see him. The Kappa chapter of Sigma Alpha Epsilon has been under fire since a video hit the internet of fraternity members on a bus chanting racial slurs. Check out the clip below.
Once Waka Flocka realized he was scheduled to perform for that particular fraternity, he released the following statement:
The group has since been forced to move out of their fraternity house, lost all affiliations with The University of Oklahoma and have been closed down by the national president of the organization. More actions will be taken as the investigation continues. OU students held a rally early Monday morning to protest the behavior of the fraternity and demand further action be taken to end racism on campus.
