Mo’ne Davis Wins Associated Press Female Athlete Of The Year

2014 was definitely Mo’ne Davis’ year! After pitching her team through the Little League World Series, she’s been giving young girls everywhere new inspiration. The Associated Press awarded Davis with the honor of Female Athlete Of The Year because she embodies character, poise, and humility in her new-found fame. Since becoming the first girl to win a Little League World Series game, she has been on the cover of Sports Illustrated, presented an award at the Soul Train Awards, met the First Family, named Sports Kid of The Year by Sports Illustrated, has her jersey displayed in the baseball Hall of Fame and so much more.  Mo’ne is the youngest person to ever win the honor and she beat out many other female athletes, such as Serena Williams, to win this accolade. Mo’ne is now focusing all of her energy into basketball being the only eighth grader on the high school varsity squad and also maintain wonderful academic standards. She has dreams of playing basketball at The University of Connecticut and then going on to the WNBA. This little girl is spectacular in every sense of the word and deserves all of the attention coming her way. We know she has nothing but greatness planned and we wish her all the best.
