There’s a boom in medical marijuana dispensaries in the state of Californian and the U.S. These facilities have reached record numbers, cropping up like Starbucks or McDonald’s. States across the nation are legalizing medical and recreational marijuana. Our two unlikely heroes, Darius (DeRay Davis – “EMPIRE”, “21 Jump Street”, “GI Joe”) and Pat (Lil Duval – “Scary Movie 5″,”Meet the Blacks”), figure they can help the medical marijuana movement, but mainly help themselves by trying to grow their own cannabis and selling their crop to the dispensaries. Only one problem, knowing how to smoke weed doesn’t mean you know how to grow weed.
After taking a trip to “Dr. Doobie” (Malcolm McDowell – “Entourage”, “The Mentalist”, “Home Alone”) to become legally certified pot growers, they gain access to a Bel Air mansion to use as a “grow house.” Although they convince Snoop Dogg (played as himself) to fund their operation, our heroes soon discover what can grow wrong, will go wrong in this comedy of errors.
Soundtrack Available on Priority Records. New single “The Bong Song”
We sat and spoke with Imani Hakim about her upcoming role as Rochon in ,Burning Sands, a raw, voyeuristic journey of fraternity pledging through the eyes of one favored pledgee, who is torn between honoring a code of silence or standing up against the intensifying violence of underground hazing. Led by a breakthrough performance by Trevor Jackson, director Gerard McMurray’s feature directorial debut brings an emotional honesty to the classic tale of “rites of passage” and the complicated bonds of brotherhood.
Burning Sands also stars Trevor Jackson, Alfre Woodard, Steve Harris, Tosin Cole, DeRon Horton, Trevante Rhodes, Christian Robinson, Rotimi, Octavius Johnson, Malik Bazille, Mitchell Edwards, Serayah, and Nafessa Williams.

Although the “Suicide Squad” movie (featuring: Will Smith, Margot Robbie, Viola Davis and plenty others) was just released, it seems as though the only thing people can’t stop talking about is the soundtrack!! The official soundtrack features a few of our favorite artists and producers like: Rick Ross, Lil Wayne, Wiz Khalifa, Kehlani, Kevin Gates, G-Eazy, Eminem, Imagine Dragons, Skrillex, Action Bronson and more. I never really listen to other people’s opinions when it comes to movies, but i heard that SS wasn’t that great, however, the soundtrack has a little something for everyone. On top of that it just knocked DJ Khaled’s “Major Keys” off the charts from #1. So take a few minutes and give it a quick listen. I promise you won’t be disappointed.
